    Headline Outcome

All three permit category misalignments corrected through formal amendment applications. Two renewals submitted and tracked to issuance ahead of the donor review. Employer accreditation confirmed current. The donor review found no outstanding immigration compliance issues. The organisation now has a structured immigration register managed through our office.

    The Client

An international NGO implementing rural electrification programmes across central and northern Namibia, employing 18 foreign technical staff alongside 60 Namibian employees, with a donor review approaching.

    The Challenge

The organisation had received an informal indication from a Ministry of Home Affairs inspector that its employer accreditation and the permits held by its foreign technical staff might not be aligned, following a routine site visit. A donor review was scheduled in six weeks and any open immigration compliance issues needed to be resolved before then. The country HR manager had no formal immigration compliance background and was uncertain where to start.

    Our Approach

We conducted a full immigration compliance audit: reviewing the organisation's employer accreditation status, the permit types held by each of the 18 foreign staff members, the alignment between permit categories and actual work performed, and the skills transfer obligations attached to each permit. We identified three misalignments between permit category and work description and two permits that were approaching expiry without renewal in progress. We prepared a remediation plan and managed the permit amendments and renewals required to bring the organisation into full compliance.

    The Outcome

All three permit category misalignments corrected through formal amendment applications. Two renewals submitted and tracked to issuance ahead of the donor review. Employer accreditation confirmed current. The donor review found no outstanding immigration compliance issues. The organisation now has a structured immigration register managed through our office.
