Investor Immigration and Business Setup for a UAE Family Office

The family office had reviewed a high-level opportunity deck from a Namibian promoter but needed independent advice on the full entry framework before committing.

    Headline Outcome

Company registered. NIPDB investment approval obtained. Work permit issued for the principal within the standard processing window. The family office's principal arrived in Namibia with a legally compliant residency and employment structure. Land acquisition discussions are underway. We serve as the family office's ongoing Namibian tax, legal, and compliance advisory firm.

    The Client

A Dubai-based Gulf family office that had identified Namibia as a target for investment in commercial agriculture and wanted to establish an operational presence in the country, including residence status for one of its principals who would oversee the investment on the ground.

    The Challenge

The family office had reviewed a high-level opportunity deck from a Namibian promoter but needed independent advice on the full entry framework before committing. Key questions included the land ownership rules for foreign investors under the Agricultural (Commercial) Land Reform Act, the investment approval process through NIPDB, the work permit requirements for the principal who would be resident in Namibia, and the corporate structure that would best accommodate the investment.

    Our Approach

We prepared a comprehensive market and regulatory entry brief covering the foreign investment framework, land ownership rules, NIPDB investment approval requirements, and the available immigration pathways for the principal. We then managed the full implementation: company registration through BIPA, NIPDB investment approval, and the work permit application for the principal through the Ministry of Home Affairs. We also coordinated the tax advisory on the cross-border structure with Andersen UAE and prepared the employment contract for the principal.

    The Outcome

Company registered. NIPDB investment approval obtained. Work permit issued for the principal within the standard processing window. The family office's principal arrived in Namibia with a legally compliant residency and employment structure. Land acquisition discussions are underway. We serve as the family office's ongoing Namibian tax, legal, and compliance advisory firm.
